Colour grading
Adjusting a video’s colours, light and contrast, shot by shot, so it looks right and consistent.
It happens in two stages: colour correction first (whites that are truly white, natural skin, a dark shot brought back), then the grade itself, the mood (warmer, cooler, more contrast).
In a short video built from several clips, it avoids the patchwork look: a bluish shot next to an orange one stands out at once. The simplest fix is still to film well: the same light and the same white balance from start to finish.
A bakery filmed under strip lights and then by the window: grading brings the two looks together so the bread is the same colour throughout.
